Mattia Camorani

Passionate about food from a young age Mattia started cooking while he was still in school and found his first job in a local restaurant in Imola, Italy where he grew up.

He moved to London in1995 where he joined the team at Michelin starred restaurant Zafferano . After two years he left to work in Melbourne, Australia where he was the head chef at Pomodoro Quadrato.

Due to a serious motorbike accident in 2003 Mattia had to stop working for a while but luckily he made a full recovery and was back at work in 2004 where he joined Giorgio Locatelli as Senior Chef de Partie at Locanda Locatelli. There he was able to enhance and refine his expertise in classic Italian cooking.

Mattia joined the Refettorio team as Head Chef in July 2005 and has continued to create divine, traditional Italian dining in the heart of the city!
